Costs & Fees
Costs and fees will vary widely, and depend on the project. I am also happy to tailor packages to your needs. See below for general rates.
Ghostwriting:
$1.00—$1.50 word, depending on research required
Please see my How It Works page for standard word counts. As an example, a typical health & wellness general trade book published through a traditional publisher is around 50,000 words.
Book Coaching:
$100/hr per session
Monthly retainer packages:
4, 1-hour sessions a month for $350/mo
4, 1-hour sessions a month and up to 5 hours of *editing for $750/mo
8, 1-hour sessions a month and up to 10 hours of *editing for $1,500/mo
*Editing includes reading and assessment and developmental editing. Please note that there is a limit to email exchanges (within reason) I can offer in any given month.
Editing:
Developmental editing: $2,500 per 50,000 words ($0.05/word)
Copyediting: $1,500 per 50,000 words ($0.03/word)
Proofreading: $1,000 per 50,000 words ($0.02/word)
Shorter Content (emails, newsletters, articles):
Varies. Please reach out for more information about rates.
Payment
For ghostwriting long works: I ask for a down payment of 5% to get started. This helps establish commitment, and covers the time to outline and establish the project. After, I break the rest of the total cost of the project into four portions: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the manuscript which I bill upon delivery. I ask for 30 days payment after billing.
For book coaching and editing: Please reach out to request services. I will invoice to prepay to book sessions and packages.
